

In her ninth season as Director of the Cadet Glee Club, United States Military Academy at West Point, Constance Chase is a noted conductor, performer, voice teacher and author. Under her direction, the Glee Club has accomplished three recordings, several national tours and appears frequently on live broadcasts. Ms. Chase teaches applied voice at Western Connecticut State University and is Artistic Director of the Hudson Valley Chorale. She is co-author with Shirlee Emmons of Prescriptions for Choral Excellence, Oxford University Press (2006). The book for choral directors and choral singers applies new principles of voice science and leadership/performance psychology to the choral setting. An accomplished soloist in recital and chamber works, Ms. Chase has also performed with and served as rehearsal assistant with The Riverside Choral Society in New York City, Patrick Gardner, Director, most notably in its critically acclaimed Mostly Mozart Festival appearances. Her private voice students are state and national award winners of NATS, MTNA and NFAA competitions.
Pianist Darren Motise began his musical training at age eight. While in high school he attended the Juilliard School's renowned Pre-College division and by the age of eighteen made his New York City recital debut at Town Hall. He has since performed in solo and collaborative recitals worldwide. He received a Master's degree from the Juilliard School. Mr. Motise was recently seen on Broadway as a featured actor opposite Dixie Carter in Terrence McNally's Tony Award winning play Master Class, about the life of Maria Callas, and later joined the National Tour starring Faye Dunaway. He has served as music theater director for various regional companies including Coconut Grove Playhouse in Miami, Hartford Theaterworks, and Oklahoma City Lyric Theater. He also directed and performed in the Korean-language production of "Master Class" at the Seoul Performing Arts Center and has served as assistant artistic talent scout for Cirque du Soleil. An accomplished organist, choir director and liturgical musician, Mr. Motise currently serves as music director at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Poughkeepsie, New York, and teaches at Vassar College.
Lieutenant Colonel Rodney X. Sturdivant, Ph.D. is a 1986 graduate of West Point and Glee Club alumni (also part of the Glee Club Headliners group). He also earned Master of Science degrees in Statistics and in Operations Research from Stanford in 1995 and a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 2005. He served in a variety of leadership and staff positions in the Ordnance branch and as an Operations Research analyst. He is currently an Academy Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences. LTC Sturdivant and his wife, Mandy, will soon celebrate their 20th anniversary and have two children: Chelsea, a freshman at Grove City College and Steven (12). Musically, he still sings and also plays the violin (passionately if not well) and was instrumental in starting a cadet string ensemble at West Point.

The Glee Club welcomes some 25-30 new members each year. Membership is by invitation following audition with the Glee Club director and interview with the club's cadet leadership. The Glee Club seeks musicians with fine voices, strong reading skills, and excellent tonal memory. Auditions occur in the fall. Dates and times are announced throughout the Corps during Re-Organization Week.
The Glee Club presents up to fifty performances annually throughout the United States and abroad. It currently books performances two to four years in advance. For further information please contact:
